Dr. Jerome Buenviaje, DC, APC, MD

Dr. Jerome Buenviaje was born in Manila, Philippines. He immigrated to the United States in 1985. He attended the University of Arizona. From University of Arizona, he received a Bachelors of Science in Microbiology. It was during his studies in Tucson that he was introduced to Chiropractic and decided upon Chiropractic as his future career. Upon graduation, he returned to California where he began his Chiropractic studies at the Southern California University of Health Science, Los Angeles College of Chiropractic. During this time, he actively pursued his education in the Gonstead System. He served as Gonstead Club president and completed two chiropractic mission trips to El Salvador. He also was the founder and president of Filipino-American Student Association while he was attending chiropractic school.

Dr. Buenviaje was privileged enough to complete internships under two distinguished Gonstead doctors: Dr. Mark Werking of Peoria, Illinois and Dr. James Warlick of Sun City, Arizona. Under Dr. Werking, Dr. Buenviaje learned the science and art of treating sports injuries and injuries to the various extremities (shoulders, ankles, wrists, etc). Under the tutelage of Dr. Warlick, he refined his diagnostic and adjusting skills. In 2008, Dr. Buenviaje received his Medical Degree from the University of Health Sciences Antigua. In 2009, he completed, and received the designation of Advanced Practice Chiropractic Medicine - Certified (APCM-C).

Besides a passion for Chiropractic and his patients, Dr. Buenviaje has a passion for martial arts, which he has studied for 25 years. He is a nidan (2nd degree black belt) in the martial art of Arniskido and a Gondan (5th degree black belt) in the martial art of Aikido. He can be observed practicing this art at the dojo he founded, Takemusu Aikido New Mexico. Dr. Buenviaje currently serves as the college liaison for the Gonstead Clinical Study Society (GCSS). He lives in Santa Fe, New Mexico with his wife, Dr. Melanie Buenviaje, and their three children.

 

Dr. Melanie Buenviaje, DC, APC, MBA


Dr. Melanie Buenviaje grew up in the beauty of the Pacific Northwest in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. She attended Simon Fraser University where she received a Bachelors of Applied Science in Exercise Therapy and Rehabilitation.

Upon completing her Bachelors, she moved to Los Angeles, California in order to study Chiropractic at the Southern California University of Health Science, Los Angeles College of Chiropractic. During this time, she actively pursued her education in the Gonstead System, traveling throughout the United States to attend Gonstead Seminars of Chiropractic and learning from several distinguished Gonstead practitioners. Dr. Buenviaje's practice focuses on children and women's health issues.

In 2010, Dr. Buenviaje received her Masters in Business Administration from Western Governor’s University, Salt Lake City, Utah. She is currently undergoing the certification for the designation of Advanced Practice Chiropractic Medicine - Certified (APCM-C).
