Q. Does a chiropractic adjustment hurt?  What are the side effects of an adjustment?

People respond differently to an adjustment.  While some people get instant relief, others may experience mild soreness after an adjustment, which is the most common side effect.  Over 2 million chiropractic adjustments are delivered to patients every day.  Adjustments are far safer than muscle relaxes, back surgery or even a single aspirin.  People under chiropractic care are among the healthiest in the world, enjoying less medication, hospitalizations, and medical doctor visits.

Q. I am pregnant.  Can I still get an adjustment?

Yes, pregnant women benefit greatly from chiropractic, especially in the third trimester when sciatica (pain in the buttocks and down the leg) is a common complaint.  Chiropractic adjustments are safe, beneficial and comfortable for the expectant mother.

Q. What if I need an x-ray? MRI/other special studies?

We have a full x-ray facility on site. X-rays are taken at our office and developed within minutes.  If you should require further or special studies, such as an MRI, our doctors can refer you to several imaging facilities in Santa Fe and Albuquerque.
